About
The Permanent Secretariat of Nobel Peace Laureates Summits derives from a new and more broadly based collaboration between the International Gorbachev Foundation and the City of Rome for realizing the World Summits of Nobel Peace Laureates. The Permanent Secretariat, based in Rome, is a non-profit association without political aims. As well as organizing the tasks of the Summit, the Secretariat monitors the activities of Nobel Peace Laureates, while promoting the adoption of the "Charter for a world without violence" and supporting the work of the Nobel.

It is extremely important the reestablishment of democracy in Myanmar and the releasing of all political prisoners along with Mrs. Aung San Suu Kyi, chosen head of state in the 1990 elections. I suggest to the X Summit to make a crystal clear statement on that to all international organisms, organizations, governments and individuals in the world.

É extremamente importante o restabelecimento da democracia em Myanmar (ex-Birmânia) e a liberação de todos os presos políticos, juntamente com a Sra. Aung San Suu Kyi, chefe de estado escolhida nas eleições de 1990. Sugiro que a X Cúpula dos Laureados com o Prêmio Nobel da Paz faça uma declaração claríssima sobre isto a todos os organismos internacionais, organizações, governos e indivíduos do mundo.
