Alyn Ware

Alyn Ware is Vice-President of the International Peace Bureau, Global Coordinator of Parliamentarians for Nuclear Non-proliferation and Disarmament, Consultant for the International Association of Lawyers Against Nuclear Arms and a 2009 Right Livelihood Laureate (‘Alternative Nobel Peace Prize’) for his leadership in promoting a Nuclear Weapons Convention.

Alyn was the United Nations Coordinator for the World Court Project which achieved a ruling from the International Court of Justice in 1996 on the illegality of nuclear weapons. He co-founded the Abolition 2000 network of 2000+ organisations promoting a Nuclear Weapons Convention. He was the drafting coordinator for the Model Nuclear Weapons Convention which was circulated by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon as part of Mr Ban’s Five-Point-Plan for Nuclear Disarmament.
