
Albert Schweitzer Institute
David is currently the Executive Director of the Albert Schweitzer Institute at Quinnipiac
University in the state of Connecticut in the United States. The Albert Schweitzer Institute
promotes the ideas and values of the 1952 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr. Albert
Schweitzer on a worldwide basis. He is also an Adjunct Professor of International
Business, Political Science, Philosophy, and Latin American Studies at Quinnipiac University.
He is an Emmy Award winning Executive Producer of a documentary on the
life of the 1952 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Albert Schweitzer and a member of the
Board of Directors for the International Albert Schweitzer Association. He is also a
member of the International Steering Committee for the Arms Trade Treaty, a member
of the Advisory Board for Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Betty William’s Centers of Compassion
for Children, a member of the International Steering Committee for the Middle Powers Initiative to combat nuclear
weapons, the Chair of the Board of Advisors for the Medical Mission Hall of Fame, and an Election Monitor for the Carter
Center founded by the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate President Jimmy Carter. The Albert Schweitzer Institute has
consultative status with the United Nations and is also a member organization of the Middle Powers Initiative. He has edited
a book entitled Reverence for Life Revisited about the ideas of Albert Schweitzer. David was also the Associate Dean
of Students at Colorado College, the Executive Director of the Jonas Foundation dedicated to teaching young people to
resolve conflicts peacefully, the Executive Director of the Rotary Peace Forum, and was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Costa
Rica teaching agriculture.
