Center for Global Nonkilling
Professor Glenn D. Paige, assisted by Glenda H. Paige, is founder of the nonprofit Center for Global Nonkilling in Honolulu, Hawaii (www.nonkilling.org). The mission of the Center is “to promote change toward the measurable goal of a killing-free world by means of infinite human creativity in reverence for life.” The work of the Center grows out of the book Nonkilling Global Political Science (2002; 3rd ed. 2009), now translated into 22 languages. The Center seeks change by advancing nonkilling research, education-training, and action through cooperation with institutions and individuals throughout the world.
Over 300 scholars in 200 universities in 50 countries are presently cooperating in 20 nonkilling research committees. Findings contribute to a short-term Global Nonkilling Leadership Academy. The Center is a partner in the WHO Violence Prevention Alliance and strongly supports the Nobel Peace Laureates’ Charter for a World Without Violence including its Principle 13: “Everyone has the right not to be killed and the responsibility not to kill others.”
