Professor Hoesung Lee is Vice Chair of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and dean of the College of Environment at Keimyung University, Korea. The area of his research and teaching is climate change, energy and resources economics. He was Co-Chair of IPCC Working Group III in 1992-1997 for the IPCC Second Assessment Report which provided scientific basis for the Kyoto Protocol. He was lead author and review editor for the subsequent assessment reports. He was president of the Korea Energy Economics Institute. He served as president of the International Association of Energy Economics.
