UN gives backing to ‘Mandela Day’
The United Nations General Assembly has declared 18 July Mandela Day, to mark the contribution of Nelson Mandela to world freedom.

Ahmed Mohamed “Kathy” Kathrada has spent his entire life fighting against racism. He endured arrests, banning orders, harassment and 26 years imprisonment for this cause. Now in our 16th year of democracy, he remains determined to continue his efforts to bring about real non-racialism in South Africa.
